EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION
The Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, commonly referred to as, "Eucharistic Ministers," are primarily responsible for assisting the celebrant in the distribution of Holy Communion at the Mass under both species when conditions permit. On an individual basis, some "Eucharistic Ministers" assist in the Ministry of the Sick when health conditions permit. They take The Body of Christ to individuals who are not physically able to come to church.
